Dear Dr. Di Gregorio,
I hope this e-mail finds you well.
My name is Sevgül Çilingir Cesur, and I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Tourism Guidance at Ege University. I received your contact information through our colleagues at Foça Municipality. I am writing to kindly seek your support regarding the master’s thesis research of one of my students. Mr. Tulga Can Okan is currently pursuing his MA at the Institute of Social Sciences at Ege University. His thesis focuses on the ancient Phocaean route and the historical connections between Foça (Phocaea) in Türkiye and Ascea (Velia) in Italy. The working title of his thesis is “The Foça-Ascea European Cultural Route Proposal: An Evaluation of Cultural Sustainability and Local Development in Tourism.”
His research explores how this shared Mediterranean heritage could serve as the foundation for a contemporary European Cultural Route linking our two regions. As part of this study, he aims to conduct short interviews and meetings, either online or face-to-face, with relevant representatives and stakeholders involved in or knowledgeable about the route in both Türkiye and Italy.
In this context, we would greatly appreciate the opportunity to establish contact with you and, if possible, with any colleagues or representatives you might recommend who are involved in related initiatives.
Thank you very much for your time and kind consideration. Should you require any additional information or supporting documents about the research, we would be very happy to provide them.
Kind regards
